Each year the Electoral Registration Office must write to all households in their area and ask them to confirm or update the elector details of everyone in the household (over 16 years of age). The aim of writing out is to ensure all individuals in a household who are eligible to vote are registered. We have now started to write out. So you will have received a Household Enquiry Form (HEF). The law says you must respond to the HEF. There are several ways to respond, but our preferred routes are to use Text (SMS) for No Changes or the online form for Changes.
Your HEF has your security codes to respond.
Please see below the way to confirm or update your household’s details:
You can text NOCHANGE followed by part 1 and part 2 of your security code to 80212 (standard charges apply)
Visit www.householdresponse.com/tendring and enter part 1 and part 2 of your security code
Call 0800 197 9871 and when prompted enter part 1 and part 2 of your security code
If you are unable to respond to the HEF using the digital methods you can complete the form and then post it back to us in the envelope provided (postage is free). If you are thinking about returning the paper form, you should be aware that unlike the text and online options, you will not receive an acknowledgement of receipt. We actively encourage the confirmation or update of your household’s details using text or online options.
If a response hasn’t been received by 14th August 2019, we must send you a reminder HEF. Please help us avoid unnecessary reminders being sent out by responding to the HEF as early as possible.
If you have any electoral registration queries or are unable to respond to the HEF please contact the Electoral Registration Team by email firstname.lastname@example.org or call 01255 686575.
