Residents across Tendring are being warned not to get caught out by Council Tax scams.

A company has been actively calling people in the area and offering to get a reduction in bills – but at a cost.

What residents need to be aware is that if they are entitled to a lower charge then they can take action themselves without having to pay a third party.

Paul Honeywood, Tendring District Council’s (TDC) Cabinet Member for Housing, said he would not like to see residents part with money when they do not need to.
