Harwich Festival of the Arts 2016

Display Of Roman Finds From Dale Hall

Manningtree Museum & local history group are holding a public display of some of the artefacts discovered during excavations in early 2015 by the Colchester Archaeological trust  at Dale Hall, Lawford. Along with the finds, other information on the excavation will be displayed. The implications of the Roman settlement on the local history will also be explored and explained.

The magnificent gardens will be open for just this weekend. The Rhododendrons and Azaleas should be at their best. There will also be musical entertainment, "Country Craft" stalls, plant stall, photo competition, plus a hedgehog hunt for children. Teas available from the village hall nearby.

Frinton Festival - String Quartets

The opening concert features beautiful music by Beethoven, Wolf & Saint-Saens. Mathilde Milwidsky and Tim Crawford (violins), Tim Ridout (viola) and Robert Max (cello). Peal of bells from 6.45pm. Enjoy a drink with the musicians after the concert in the local pub. Tickets include a programme and glass of wine in the interval.

Musicians include Ilze Robertson (harp), Duncan Archard (piano), the barbican piano trio and the New London children's choir. Tickets include a programme and a glass of wine.

High Woods Country Park

Join us at High Woods Country Park on Saturday 11th June 2016 for a fun filled day for the whole family! Participants of all ages and abilities will face five bubble stations along the course where they will run through a wall of bubbles! They will be blasted by our special bubble cannons which blow out 30 cubic metres a minute of bubbles with different coloured bubbles at each station. This sponsored event is open to all age groups and abilities - bring along family, friends or colleagues and make a day to remember. Even though it is hilly, buggies and wheelchairs can be taken around the course. Spectators and participants can take part in our fun activities available at the starting point too.
