The Harwich Society runs a monthly quiz night on the 1st Monday of each month. The quiz begins at 8pm and is £1.00 per head with up to 8 per team.

Friday 14th October - The Invasion of Jaywick - Black Sandal writers and Musician Matthew Annear, look forward to visiting Jaywick.  They shall be reading poems & stories, interspersed with traditional folk from Matthew on the melodian & penny whistle.

Friday 21st October - Words from the Edge & Other Drossscapes - Alan Hockett & Judith Wolton will present a talk & slideshow from their book which explores some of the edgelands of Essex, using pinhole camera & poetry.

Friday 28th October - Only a Button? - This entertaining talk by Barbara Faulkner aims to prove otherwise.  A modern button is generally a disc of plastic but this wasn't always the case.  What changed?  When did we start using buttons?  Why do men & women button on opposite sides?  Find out many interesting facts & enjoy a large display of all types of buttons.

Our 5km route features man-made obstacles and plenty of challenges as toy weave your way around the varied course. Its not about coming first or getting the best time, its about completing the course with your friends, colleagues and the rest of the team. Once you cross the finish line and receive your medal, the sense of achievement you will feel will make it all worth it!
