Independent Living housing

Independent Living housing enables you to live in a home of your own with 24 hour care and support on site. This type of housing is also known as Extra Care or Assisted Living. It is for people aged 55+ who have a care need.

You will have the freedom to live your life, your way, in safe and pleasant surroundings. Flats are easy to maintain and include technology to help support you.

Care and support is delivered in your home, at a time to suit you. This can include:

  • Laundry, cleaning and shopping

Who is eligible?

To live in Independent Living housing in Tendring you will:

Be aged 55+
Need at least six hours of care each week
Live in the Tendring District Council area (or have a connection to the area)

Independent Living in Tendring

Essex County Council is working in partnership with Tendring District Council and a specialist housing provider to deliver new Independent Living homes in Tendring:

Rosebank Park, Harwich

Rosebank Park, HarwichRosebank Park is situated on Main Road, Harwich, next to the Fryatt Hospital. Scheduled to be complete in late 2016, Rosebank Park will open to residents in January 2017. The scheme is operated by One Housing Group’s Season Senior Living.

Accommodation

The scheme consists of 70 stylish, self-contained flats spread over two buildings and three floors. Flats feature one or two bedrooms, living room, fitted kitchen, built in oven and electric hob, bathroom with en-suite access and walk-in shower. Each flat is modern, easy to maintain and includes technology designed to help support residents.
