Tendring School Readiness Project

The Tendring School Readiness Project has involved Tendring Education Trust, Tendring District Council and Essex Early Years and Childcare working together in partnership with Early Years settings and schools to develop a shared understanding of what it means to be 'School Ready', and provide appropriate experiences to support this.

The Best Practice Rooms have been designed to offer a training centre for practitioners working within Early Years settings, Schools and Children’s Centres to support the delivery of best practice working with two year olds.

The Best Practice Rooms will also offer opportunities for partner organisations to use the rooms with children and family groups to support school readiness and the home learning environment.

Ready for School, Ready for Life

Every child deserves the best possible start in life and the support that enables them to fulfil their potential. Children develop quickly in the early years and a child’s experiences between birth and age five have a major impact on their future life chances. A secure, safe and happy childhood is important in its own right. Good parenting and high quality early learning together provide the foundation children need to make the most of their abilities and talents as they grow up.

The Early Years Best Practice Rooms are at the Tendring Skills Campus (on the previous Bishop's Park site), Jaywick Lane, Clacton-on-Sea, CO16 8BE.
