Plans for homes in isolated location refused

A proposal to build two new homes in an isolated location between Thorpe and Weeley has been refused.

Coleman and Clarke Ltd wanted to carry out the scheme in Colchester Road, but it was turned down by Tendring District Council (TDC).

The outline application involved two detached properties on the plot after the existing house, Hillcrest, had been demolished.

The site is outside the settlement boundary and was not considered sustainable due to its location being a significant distance from services and facilities.

TDC also considered the development to be unnecessary with no great benefits for it to be an exception to policy.

Thorpe Parish Council objected to the scheme and no other letters of representation were received.
