Plans for four new homes refused

Plans to build four new homes on the outskirts of Thorpe have been turned down.

Guy French of Whirledge and Nott put forward the outline planning application for land in Frinton Road opposite Damants Farm Lane.

The site is currently a grassed area outside the development settlement boundary in a semi-rural location.

Tendring District Council (TDC) refused planning permission as the proposed development would be unsustainable and due to the harm it would cause to the undeveloped character of the setting, residential amenity and highway safety.

Thorpe Parish Council objected to the scheme on seven grounds and there was one further letter of objection.

It was also opposed by Essex County Council as the highway authority.
