House rejected at appeal as unsustainable development

A Government inspector has rejected plans to build a new four-bedroom house in between Lawford and Ardleigh.

Tendring District Council (TDC) originally refused planning permission for the scheme in Harwich Road earlier this year.

Jon Bodsworth appealed the decision in a bid to have it overturned but inspector Jonathan Price found in favour of the Council.

Mr Price said that the development was not in a sustainable location on the site which was previously used to grow Christmas trees.

The proposal is contrary to both local and national planning policies and it would not be compatible to its surroundings.

Mr Price added that TDC is also in a position where it had identified a five year supply of housing land.
