A developer has been given the final all-clear to build five new homes in the back garden of a house in Little Oakley.
Tocia Properties originally put in an application for 13 bungalows on the land in Mayes Lane but it was rejected.
Outline planning permission was then granted for five earlier this year and last night Tendring District Council’s (TDC) Planning Committee unanimously agreed the detailed proposal.
The existing home at 21 Mayes Lane will remain although a section will be demolished to help provide the access to the new development.
Each three bedroom property will have three parking spaces and there will also be two visitors spaces provided.
TDC Planning Officer Matt Lang said: “What we have now is a well thought out and spacious development.”
There was no objection from Essex County Council as the highway authority and no other opposition to the application.
