A firm which maintains, services and repairs vehicles is all revved up after being given the green light to sell cars from the site.
The Pit Stop in Colchester Road, Great Bentley, operates on the west side of the A133 into Clacton.
It sits opposite a petrol filling station but under its planning permission granted in 2013 was not allowed to display vehicles of any kind for sale.
The company has now asked for the condition to be removed and that has been agreed by Tendring District Council (TDC).
The application was amended to take into account issues raised by Essex County Council as the highways authority and included parking bays and the layout.
A TDC spokesman said: "This development generally fits with planning policies that seek to promote rural businesses on previously developed sites. The removal of the condition could increase the viability of the operation and lead to new job opportunities."
Great Bentley Parish Council had objected to the car sales scheme but no other representations were received.
