Change from shop to dessert café approved

Thursday, 20 April, 2017

Plans to change the use of a Clacton town centre shop into a dessert café are on the menu.

Tendring District Council (TDC) has agreed the proposal put forward for Nina Marshall in High Street.

The scheme was supported by the Council’s regeneration team as it was felt to bring something new to the area and will also bring an empty unit back into life.

Two full-time and two part-time jobs will be created with the hope of more in the future.

TDC decided that prior approval was not required for the change of use and fell under new permitted development rights.

The café can open 12noon to 10pm on Monday to Saturday and 12noon to 8pm on Sundays and public holidays to protect residential amenity.
