Community Assets Rent Off Setting Scheme
What is the Community Asset Rent Off Setting Scheme?
It is an initiative where the Council can offer a grant to off-set the amount of rent you pay us if your organisation rents or leases buildings or land from us.
Do we qualify?
If you can demonstrate that your organisation contributes to the economic, social and community well-being of the district and its residents, then we can offer you a grant to help reduce the amount you pay. At present the scheme off-sets the payable rent to £150 a year. The scheme is currently under review and the target rent may be adjusted in the 2012/2013 financial year.
What kind of things would contribute to the wellbeing of the district?
Your organisation would need to demonstrate that it contributed to:
- the Council's priorities;

We will continue to review the scheme every year to check that it continues to support the priorities for the district and that rent levels are appropriate. You will not need to re-apply every year and your rent reviews and/or lease renewals will continue at the same time as they have done before.
