Job Jungle

Tendring District Council (TDC) with Coast-ed and Essex County Council have developed Job Jungle as a pilot project to provide people with training and skills to visit schools and act as mentors and encourage the pupils to focus on a positive future. The objective is to raise the aspirations and attainment of primary school children in Tendring.

The pilot currently involves four schools, but is proving such a success it is to be extended across the entire District in the coming academic year

Funding for the current work has come from ECC, and Coast-ed are hoping to attract further local and national funding to continue the programme.

We need volunteer mentors from local businesses. Training is free and takes place at Coast-ed’s offices in Great Bentley. The commitment is just four school visits to talk about their jobs, explain their skills and deliver a piece of work relating to their job.
