Crowds gathered along with school parties and the Harwich Town Silver Band Played. After the official opening ceremony Captain Grigor gave the party a guided tour of the new ferry before setting sail on the inaugural voyage. This exhibition by artist Duffy Tomei is inspired and focusses on the beauty of our natural surroundings. We live such busy lives today. It’s all too easy to live in an area and not notice it, enjoy it or even be a part of it. In this exhibition Duffy hopes to inspire folk to see the beauty of the natural surroundings in Essex through her paintings visitors will be inspired to go in search of the places they have seen on the canvases. Experiencing the fresh air, variety of sounds and touch the natural world, and perhaps appreciate the need to protect it and make sure it is preserved for future generations.

Venture across the Irish Sea to County Kerry this Spring as Eastern Angles Theatre Company present Stones In His Pockets! Local lads Jake and Charlie are working as extras on a Hollywood epic movie that has taken over their small village in rural Ireland. Switching from plucky Irish extra to know-it-all American movie star with a flick of the wrist, the pair take on all 15 characters to tell the story of the impact this movie has on their local community. The result is a sad, hilarious and irresistible play that pushes the boundaries of storytelling. Inspired by the cinematic stylings of Wes Anderson, we are also adding newly composed music and video projection to the multi-award winning play.
