The Train Ferry service between Harwich and Zeebrugge was officially opened on 24 April 1924 by His Royal Highness Prince George. Crowds gathered along with school parties and the Harwich Town Silver Band Played. After the official opening ceremony Captain Grigor gave the party a guided tour of the new ferry before setting sail on the inaugural voyage. This exhibition by artist Duffy Tomei is inspired and focusses on the beauty of our natural surroundings. We live such busy lives today. It’s all too easy to live in an area and not notice it, enjoy it or even be a part of it. In this exhibition Duffy hopes to inspire folk to see the beauty of the natural surroundings in Essex through her paintings visitors will be inspired to go in search of the places they have seen on the canvases. Experiencing the fresh air, variety of sounds and touch the natural world, and perhaps appreciate the need to protect it and make sure it is preserved for future generations.
