In order to guard against card fraud and to
ensure that customers'' card payments are taken in the most secure
environment, regular maintenance is carried out on the Council's
Automated Telephone Payments
and Secure Internet Payments
services. This maintenance is carried
out at a time when it is least disruptive to
customers.
Data provided when using these systems is
certified completely secure and confidential and your details will
not be used for any other purpose. If you have not paid this way
before you may wish to read the notes section below. You will find
that both payment methods guide you through the
processes.
We accept most major credit or debit cards (not
Diners Card or American Express),
for the following services:
- Council Tax
- National Non Domestic
Rates (Business Rates)
- Parking Penalty Charge Notice
(Parking Fine/Parking Tickets in car parks)
- Council House Rents
- Housing Benefits
Overpayments
- Any other invoice sent to you by the
Council
Please Note - On and Off street
parking will change from 1st April 2011. From the 1st
April 2011 Tendring District Council will no longer deal with the
on street enforcement. This function will be taken over by
Colchester Borough Council under a new North Essex Parking
Partnership.
If you wish to pay an on-street parking fine after the 1st April
please go to the North Essex area of
www.parkingpartnership.org
or call 01206 282316.
Notes
- Please make sure you have the bills/parking
ticket you want to pay, and your credit or debit card to hand as
you will need to provide information e.g. your account number for a
Council Tax payment.
- These systems are available 24 hours a day, 7
days a week.
If you are in a public place when making an online or automated
telephone payment we strongly advise you to make sure you are not
overlooked as you enter your details to prevent them from being
misused by somebody else.
- There is no charge for debit card
payments. However there is a charge for credit card
payment of Council Tax, Non Domestic Rates, Council House Rents and
Benefit Overpayments. You will be advised of the amount of the
surcharge BEFORE you complete your payment. You can then decide if
you want to continue or not.
- When making a payment using the automated
telephone payment method you will be given a receipt number to
confirm that your payment has been made. Please keep a record of
this number as it is proof of payment.
- When making a payment using the online payment
method you will be given the option to print a receipt or have one
e-mailed to you, which we recommend you keep as proof of
payment.
- Both the Automated Telephone Payment service and
the Internet Payment Service provide details of telephone numbers
in the event of a query or problem. In addition, the Internet
Payment Service also provides a contact email
address.
