Welcome to the Parking Services area of the website.

We operate 32 Pay & Display and 7 Free Car Parks throughout the Tendring District providing over 4,000 parking spaces, including facilities for coach parking and overnight commercial vehicles. Our car parks are located primarily in the urban coastal areas of Clacton-on-Sea, Harwich and Dovercourt, Walton-on-the-Naze, Holland-on-Sea, Jaywick and Brightlingsea. There are also car parks in the rural areas of Elmstead Market and Ardleigh. View a map of the district's car parks here.

We also operate a number of Residents Parking Zones.

In October 2004 we also took over the enforcement of on street restrictions from Essex Police, with the introduction of Decriminalised Parking Enforcement (DPE). From the 31st March 2008 the legislation under which we operate is Traffic Management Act 2004.

Service Guarantee

Our aim is to seek continuous service improvement.

The parking service pledges to: -

• Improve our car parks appearance and quality within existing council budgets
• Employ staff fully trained in customer care who are helpful and courteous while carrying out their duties
• Answer all telephone calls within 5 rings and return messages left on same or following day
• Answer all written enquiries and all appeals against penalty charges in full within 10 working days
• Remove reported graffiti within 48 hours
• Place "under investigation" notices on abandoned vehicles within 24 hours and remove at the earliest opportunity
• Remove vehicles not requiring investigation within 48 hours
• Clear obstruction and debris on car parks surface on same day unless mechanical assistance required
• Repair all machines within 4 hours for minor defects and within 3 days for major repairs
• Ensure 95% of car parks lighting is working at all times
