CHANGES TO TOWN POOL TIMETABLE TO HELP
SCHOOLS
Minor changes are being made to the timetable at Frinton and
Walton Swimming Pool in a bid to accommodate the needs of local
schools.
The move comes following a request from the schools to Tendring
District Council (TDC) which runs the site.
There will be no reduction in the public time available - but
slots for some sessions have had to be altered.
Starting today (Jan 4) from Monday to Friday most morning
sessions have had their start and end times changed by around 15
minutes.
A session for people with disabilities - previously timetabled
for Mondays from 9.30am to 10.30am has now moved to Thursdays from
9am to 10am.
Stephen Mayzes, TDC's Cabinet Member for Leisure, said that it
was important to ensure that everyone has the best possible use of
the site.
"It has been highlighted recently by Sport England that we need
to get more people involved in regular activities to help improve
their health and well-being and we are working towards that," he
said.
"It is necessary to review timetables from time to time and
following the request from the schools in this instance we have
made some minor alterations.
"We have slightly rearranged their slots to accommodate their
requirements and hope that it will not inconvenience our other
customers." |
