BODYCARE
Health Promotion Scheme
in partnership with
Primary Care Trust
Bodycare is a 5 week Health Promotion Scheme for
children in Primary Schools. The programme is delivered by trained
tutors with years 5 and 6 and covers a range of classroom and
practical activities and aims to:
-
Encourage children to become more active away
from school
-
Teach children the effects of exercise and how
the body changes during exercise
-
Teach children the benefits of exercise and an
active lifestyle
-
Teach children the importance of a balanced diet
and energy balance
Each child has an activity book and food diary and
part of the scheme is to encourage them to take part in physical
activities away from school. For every activity completed the
children receive a 'Fit Tick Sticker' that they collect in their
workbooks.
There are certificates of participation for all
children, bronze, silver and gold certificates for those children
who are very active with vouchers that can be exchanged for a free
activity at the councils sport and leisure facilities throughout
the district.
This scheme is open to all primary schools in the
district. If you would like to book your school onto the scheme or
for further information please contact:
