Public launching ramps


Accessto all designated launch sites in Tendring are restricted.

These measures are introduced by Tendring District Council as the landowner of all access routes to the designated launch sites and has been taken in the interest of public safety, increased safety of all water users under the Council's duty of care to all members of the public using the Council's facilities.

Launching from any other Council owned ramp is strictly prohibited.

Designated Launch sites in Tendring are:

Dovercourt Bay Ramp

An access key is required and available in person on completion of an application form and deposit of £10.00. Please see below **.

Parking

All vehicles must be removed from the beach and promenade after launching and parked on the road side.

Holland Haven Ramp (Club Membership required)

The Ramp is managed by Gunfleet Boating Club. Membership fee Includes

• Access Keys
• Parking
• Use of the Clubs Launching vehicle
• Use of the club house and changing facilities.
• Various functions/ events through out the year

Frinton on Sea (Club Membership required for powered watercraft.)

The Ramp is managed by Frinton Watercraft for all PWC under arrangement with Tendring District Council. Membership fees include:

• Access keys
• Trailer Park only (Launching vehicle must be park on the road side)

Sailing and Fishing Craft:
An access key is required and available in person on completion of an application form and deposit of £10.00. Please see below **.

The Martello Bay Ramp Clacton on Sea (Club membership required)

The ramp is managed by Clacton Watercraft Club (CWC) under arrangement with Tendring District Council all craft owners must be member's e.g. PWC, Sailing and Fishing. Membership fee includes:

• Access keys
• Parking permit
• Trailer Park
• Use of the clubs launching vehicle when available
• Various events through out the year

Brightlingsea Harbour

The Harbour Office
Situated on the waterside close to the Town Hard, is open weekdays between 0900 hrs and 1300 hrs. It is advisable to make an appointment outside these hours as attendance is dependent on the level of activity in the Harbour. Staff can usually be contacted on V.H.F Channel 68 or any message can be left on the answer phone on 01206 302200.
