This garden uses approximately 10,000 colourful bedding plants in both spring and summer and the banks are clothed in ground cover plants and specimen shrubs. The centre piece of this garden is a sundial on a brick plinth.

As in the Sunken Rose Garden access for wheelchair users and the less able bodied is available by means of a ramp.
