of services for people living in privately owned or privately
rented homes within the Tendring district.

The Private Sector Housing Enforcement Policy
explains how we will carry out our enforcement role with regard
to private sector housing and what business and residents can
expect from the Service and its officers. It commits those staff
involved with private sector housing to ensure that any
enforcement is taken in an appropriate, fair, consistent,
proportionate and transparent manner, and is in accordance with
the Government's Enforcement Concordat that this Council has
signed up to.
Out of Hours Emergency Service
Environmental
Services provide an out of hours service for emergencies. An
example of what constitutes an emergency would be an illegal
eviction from rented accommodation.
The out of hours
service is set up to respond to emergencies only and can be
accessed by telephoning Tendring Careline on 01255 222022. The
Careline operator will then contact the duty Environmental Health
Officer.
