If I need housing assistance at what stage should I inform the council?

As soon as your lender advises you that they are going to take you to court, you should inform the Council if you require Housing Advice. You may make an appointment to see a Homelessness Officer who will inform you what other housing options are available and how the Council can assist you.

How can I make an appointment

To make an appointment with a Homelessness Officer:

Phone 01255 686498. If you would like to speak with to a Homelessness Officer on the telephone use the same number or 01255 686438, 686445, 686444.

You can also see a Homelessness Officer by appointment at the Council's Dovercourt Office at Waddeston Road.

If you are disabled or cannot attend one of the Council's offices for any reason, arrangements can be made to visit you at home.
