Homelessness and the Housing Act 1996
(as amended by the Homelessness Act 2002)
Local
Authorities' duties towards homeless persons are outlined in Part

brought in by the Homelessness Act 2002 and the Homelessness
(Priority Need for Accommodation Order) 2002 which came into effect
from 31st July 2002.
The
information pages to the left provide important information to
homeless persons or those threatened with homelessness as a result
of the changes brought about by the new legislation.
If you are
homeless or think you may become homeless, you can make an
appointment to see a homelessness officer by telephoning 01255
