The Private Sector Housing Enforcement Policy explains how we will carry out our enforcement role with regard to private sector housing and what business and residents can expect from us. It commits us to ensure that any enforcement is taken in an appropriate, fair, consistent, proportionate and transparent manner. Any Notices issued by us are subject to the following fees.

We also have a role in Liaising with Essex County Council over unauthorised gypsy encampments.

Out of Hours Emergency Service

We provide an out of hours service for emergencies. An example of what constitutes an emergency would be an illegal eviction from rented accommodation.

The out of hours service is set up to respond to emergencies only and can be accessed by telephoning Tendring Careline on 01255 222022. The Careline operator will then contact the duty officer.
