Housing Services operates an
out of hours repairs service to provide help and assistance to
those tenants who are faced with an emergency situation, such as a
serious water leak. To count as an emergency, the problem must be
very urgent and be a threat to your health, safety or security.
Examples of emergency repairs include: -
- complete power failure;
- electrical fitting smoking or scorching;
- no heating or hot water (between 31 October and 1 May);
- burst pipes;
- broken door or lock, if this makes your home insecure;
- forced entry;
- making safe dangerous structures.
If you smell gas at any time, you should immediately contact
National Gas Emergency Service on 0800 111 999.
Please think about whether it is really necessary for our
contractor to be called to your home outside of normal working
hours before you use our emergency service. If we find that our
contractor has been called out to a repair that is not a genuine
emergency, we may charge you the extra costs of us doing the work
outside of normal hours. |
