To make effective investment decisions and to implement meaningful long term business planning in respect of the Councils housing stock as part of the option appraisal process the Council needs to have accurate and up to date information on the condition of the stock and its future requirements for maintenance, repair and improvement.

In 2002, we also asked a company called Property Techtonics to carry out a Stock Condition Survey to show us what condition our properties are in. Not all our properties were surveyed but they looked at enough of the different property types that we own to give an accurate overall picture. This survey was looked at by FPD Savills and produced the Stock Condition Validation Report and Stock Condition Cost Report to provide an updated forecast for repair and improvement costs over the next 30 years.
