It is a
condition of the council's tenancy agreement that tenants must not
cause, or allow other members of their family or their visitors to
cause, a nuisance to other residents in their area. Their tenancy
conditions also state that they are responsible for the behaviour
of all the people, including children, who live at or visit their
property, and for any nuisance, damage, disturbance or annoyance
caused.
If neighbours are causing a nuisance, people
should try talking to them first, as they may not know that their
actions are disturbing you. If this doesn't help to solve the
problem, they can report this to our Estates Management Section at
HousingASB@tendringdc.gov.uk,
by using the
Nuisance or Anti Social Behaviour Report form or by telephoning
01255 686488. In most cases, an Estates Officer will initially talk
or write to the tenants about the nuisance they are
causing.
If the problem continues, affected tenants will
be asked to keep a diary with details of the times and dates of the
nuisance. These details may be used as evidence if we take court
action at a later date.
Noise is the most common form of nuisance and all
tenants should make every effort to keep this to a reasonable level
at all times. Any complaints that are specifically about
noise nuisance will normally be dealt with by our Environmental
Services, on 01255 686767, or visit the
noise
information page.

Estates Officer may be, please go to our
