What type of tenancy will the Council give me if I am
housed by them? |
|
The Council uses two types of tenancies -
secure and non secure tenancies.
As a secure tenant, we can only end
your tenancy if we have a court order to repossess your home. The
court will only issue an order like this if you have broken one of
the conditions of your tenancy agreement. Secure tenants also have
a number of legal rights, such as the right to buy.
We also allocate council accommodation
to homeless people on a non secure tenancy until such time as they
qualify for a secure tenancy. Non secure tenants have less rights
than secure tenants.

tenancies, please go to our
