Description
The Council insures its own Council properties against certain
risks. In the case of damage to a property the Council would
normally claim on its insurance for the cost of repairing the
property.
Council tenants may make liability claims against the Council
for any damage that the Council causes to their possessions, injury
to the tenant or members of their family.
However, the Council does not insure any of the contents that
belong to the tenant. We strongly urge that every tenant should
have contents insurance.
