Description

The Cash Incentive Scheme provides an opportunity for existing secure tenants of Tendring District Council to receive a lump sum payment to assist them with the purchase of a property in the private sector. This payment is made on the condition that they surrender their existing accommodation to enable the council to house a family in housing need.

Applications will be considered from existing tenants of Tendring District Council who:

Occupy a property with two or more bedrooms;
Have been a secure tenant for at least two years;
Would not be able to purchase a property without the benefit of financial assistance from the council;
Have sufficient regular income to maintain payments on their home;
Have maintained a satisfactory tenancy in accordance with the terms of their Tenancy Agreement;
Additionally the council will not accept applications where there is a current housing application from any other member of the applicant's household or where the consequence of the move is the homelessness of a member of the household.
