Welcome to the Housing Section of the Council's Website.
From the menu on the left you can access
information specifically for you whether you are a Council tenant,
Housing Association tenant, private tenant or homeowner.
Housing related services are provided by the
following departments in the Council.
Housing Services
Are responsible for the management and maintenance of the
Council
housing stock, as well as
homelessness and housing
advice.
Environmental Services
Are
responsible for issues regarding
private
sector housing. These
include:-
Discretionary grants/loans for essential repairs,
Mandatory Disabled Facilities Grants, Enforcement of Standards in
the private rented sector, Enforcement of Standards in Houses in
Multiple Occupation, Licensing of Houses in Multiple Occupation,
Unauthorised Travellers/Gypsy Incursions, Harassment and Illegal
Eviction and Empty Homes. They are also responsible for
waste management and
street sweeping.
Benefits, Revenues and Cashiers
Are responsible for the administration of
Housing
Benefit.
Community Services
Are responsible for providing the
Careline
Service and Scheme Managers in the
Council's sheltered
housing.
Leisure Services
Are responsible for supervising the
maintenance of all
open spaces within the district, which includes parks,
recreation grounds, cemeteries and crematorium, roadside verges as
well as council housing
areas. |
