Family support services that may be available to you and your child include

• regular contact with a social worker;
• advice and counselling;
• support for the family in the home;
• assistance with parenting skills;
• liaison with other agencies including education and health;
• advice and information on child care services;
• information about organisations who may be able to offer independent help and support.

Some of these services are provided directly by social workers and family support workers; some by Essex County Council family centres; and some are provided by arrangement with organisations like Homestart and other local voluntary groups.
