Essex County Council are responsible for meeting the childcare targets set for Essex by the Government. Their aim is to ensure a universal nursery education place for every three and four year old who wants one.

They work with partner childcare organisations, such as the Pre-School Learning Alliance, 4Children, National Childminding Association and Day Nursery Association, to provide training and development to staff who work in childcare.

Essex County Council also provide business support for childminders and other childcare organisations.
