Supplies of black refuse sacks are delivered to
all properties in Tendring once a year. 52 sacks are delivered to
each property between January and March, one sack for each week of
the year. The sacks are allocated to the property and should remain
with the property if the occupier moves house, unfortunately
further supplies are not available.
N.B. The next delivery will commence in
January 2009.
Frequently asked Questions
Q. How many bags will I
receive?
A. Each property will receive 1
sack per week (52 per year).
Q. When will I receive my black
sacks?
A. Sacks are delivered yearly to
each property. Between January and March each property will receive
a supply of 52 sacks.
Q. Why are they delivered
yearly?
A. There are financial savings
generated by delivering the sacks yearly - money that will be saved
or used to enhance other Council services.
Q. What happens if I run
out?
A. Should you run out of sacks
you will need to purchase additional sacks until your next
delivery. By using the household collection of recyclable materials
service, which collects mixed paper and card, tins and cans and
plastic containers, you will be able to dramatically reduce the
quantity of black sack rubbish you generate.
Q. I have just moved in and don't have
any black sacks - what should I do?
A. Sacks are delivered to each
property (as opposed to residents) and therefore if the previous
occupants have not left any you will need to purchase additional
sacks until you receive the next yearly supply between January and
March.
Q. What if I don't receive my delivery of
sacks?
A. If you do not receive your
yearly delivery of sacks between January and March then please
contact the Council before the end of March, we
cannot supply any sacks after this time. You can
purchase black bags from most supermarkets, DIY stores or from any
of the Council's cash offices which can be left out for
collection.
