Submitting Comments About Planning
Applications
Planning officers take all comments received via
Planning Public Access into account prior to making a
decision.
Representations of a racist nature submitted as comments
upon a planning application will not be considered and may be
referred to the Equality and Human Rights Commission or the Police
for investigation.
To submit comments online about a planning application you first
need to find the application using the links above. When the
application details have been selected you will see a 'Submit
Comments' button. You will then be asked to complete your address
if you are a Tendring resident, if not, click the button to state
that you live outside the area. Click the submit comments button
and complete the form then click 'Submit Comments' at the bottom of
the form.
If you would like further information about a current
application or proposal, please contact Planning Customer Services
at planning.services@tendringdc.gov.uk
This new service is gradually being developed and there
are some limitations and these are described below:
- Online planning history contained within the computerised
system is incomplete and must not be used as a substitute for
carrying out a formal Land Charge Search. No responsibility will be
taken for any errors or omissions in the planning history
information obtained from Planning Public Access.
- Information contained within Public Access does not constitute
in any way a formal notification of a planning decision, and as
such any actions taken as a result of information displayed on the
site are undertaken entirely at the viewer's own risk.
- Planning constraint information ie listed buildings,
conservation areas, tree preservation orders etc. is available via
Public Access for Planning but cannot be considered definitive at
the moment. Where you see the phrase "No constraints are associated
with this property" please contact us if you require details about
possible constraints. For flood risk information please use the
Environment Agency web site.
- Please note that, for practical reasons, not all documents will
be displayed, although these will continue to be available at the
Weeley Planning Reception as usual.
- Service availability will be interrupted during the early hours
of the morning to allow the Council's backup routines to be
run.
- Only validated applications will be viewable on the Public
Access system as quite a number of applications received are
invalid and many of these are subsequently withdrawn.
- Some older applications will have been determined by planning
officers no longer employed by the Council. Contact Customer
Services at planning.services@tendringdc.gov.uk to
ascertain who would best handle an enquiry.
