Planning Aid

This link takes you to the planning aid webpage

Planning Aid England provides free, independent and professional planning advice to communities and individuals who cannot afford to pay professional fees. It helps those people who for whatever reason are unable to use professional private sector planning or specialist consultants.

They have qualified and independent Planning Advisors at the end of the telephone in each English region. They are on hand to give callers 15 minutes of free planning advice over the telephone.
Initial help may include advice, directing you to other organisations or providing a list of planning consultants. Each enquiry is dealt with on its merits and we will ask a series of questions to determine eligibility.

If your case is complicated and cannot be dealt with by the Planning Advisor on the phone, and you are eligible for further help they will pass your case on to one of our national network of volunteers. More detailed help will only be provided to individuals and groups that meet our eligibility criteria. You can find out if you're eligible by visiting: http://www.rtpi.org.uk/planningaid/how_we_can_help/advice/

If you would like advice or information on any aspect of the planning system call our Planning Advisor on 0870 850 9801 or email eecw@planningaid.rtpi.org.uk

You can download Planning Aid England's 2009/10 Annual Review from here.
Planning Aid is working to raise awareness of the government's consultation on the draft Waste Water National Policy Statement.
A summary leaflet which summarises the draft Waste Water National Policy Statements can be downloaded free of charge from www.nationalpolicystatements.org.uk

Planning Aid is acting independently of the government but is:

  • Playing a role in raising awareness of the consultation and explaining why it is important to get involved
  • Offering the public independent advice on having their say
  • Helping direct members of the public to relevant sources of information
