Waterfront and Village Urban Regeneration Area Supplementary
Planning Document - Regulation 17 Public Participation
In March
2009, the Council announced that a Supplementary Planning Document
(SPD) was being prepared for the Mistley Waterfront and Village
Urban Regeneration Area. This follows a commitment made in Chapter
12 of the Tendring District Local Plan (adopted in December 2007)
stating that an SPD was to be prepared to facilitate the
regeneration of the Mistley area.
Since March, the Council has been working in
consultation with a number of key stakeholders to establish a
positive planning framework for the Mistley area in accordance with
the aims and objectives set out in the adopted Local Plan. A draft
version of the SPD was prepared and was placed on formal public
consultation from Monday 18 January to Monday 15 February 2010.
During this time, people were invited to submit representations on
the draft SPD.
The consultation closed at 16:00 on Monday 15 February
2010.
The draft Mistley SPD (and supporting documents) were also
available to view throughout the consultation period at the
following 'deposit points':
• Mistley Village Hall;
• Mistley Post Office;
• Manningtree Methodist Church Foyer, South Street;
• Council Offices at Weeley; and
• Town Hall at Clacton.
Staffed exhibitions took place at Mistley Village Hall (off
Shrubland Road, Mistley) on Monday 18 January and Saturday 6
February. The exhibition was set up at the Village Hall throughout
the whole four-week consultation period.
All comments received will be carefully considered and may be taken
into account during the preparation of the final version, which
will be adopted by the Council for planning
purposes.
