Development
Management (The planning department) handles
planning applications and appeals. We are the department to
contact to see if you need planning consent for proposed work and
publish the
weekly lists of applications and decisions.
Planning advice is available
here.
Most planning
applications are determined by planning officers but some are
considered by the
Development Control Committee, (The Planning
Committee) who meet approximately every three weeks. A
calendar of meetings is available
here.
Using Public
Access you can obtain the details of valid applications and even
make comments on applications that have not been determined. It is
possible to track the progress of an application and to view
decisions made.

In
2007 a Biannual
Tendring District Design Award
was established to help developers focus on better design in the
district.
Independent
