How to make an application


Here you will find guidance and application forms relating to Building Control:

This is what you will need to do:

1 Decide on the type of application you need to submit

This may be a full plans, building notice or regularisation. Refer to the Building Control application submission guide
to decide which is best for you.

2. Print out the relevant form below and fill in the details.

Full Plans Application
This can be used for any type of work, where you require your drawings to be
checked and approved by us.

Building Notice Application

This form can be used for simple domestic works.

Connection to a Sewer Form
This building notice has been tailored for use on sewer connections.

Regularisation Form
This can only be used for works that have been undertaken without building regulation approval.

This form is to be used where a building, or part of a building is to be demolished.

3. Determine what fee is applicable by referring to the tables below.

Table A covers the building of new dwellings, Table B refers to extensions and alterations to existing dwellings and Table C deals with non-domestic works.

 

New Fees Effective the 1st April 2012

Building Control Charges effective the 1st April 2012

Table A effective the 1st April 2012

Table B effective the 1st April 2012

Table C effective the 1st April 2012

4. Send us the information

Post back forms, together with the required fee and any applicable drawings to:
Tendring District Council, Building Control, Council Offices, Thorpe Road, Weeley, Essex CO16 9AJ

5. What happens next?

Assuming you have completed the forms correctly and provided the right fee, we will contact you or your agent with either a request for amendments to the drawings etc, or send you our decision notice.
