| What do I do if I find a stray
dog? |
- If you feel at all apprehensive about approaching the
dog, go to step 3. below. If you feel safe to approach and seize
the dog go to step 2. below.
- Check to see if the dog has any form of identification
and if practicable return the dog directly to its owner. If not
practicable, or no identification is present, then choose which of
steps 3. or 4. below is most convenient to you at the
time.
- During normal working hours (8.45am to 5.15pm Monday to
Thursday and 8.45am to 4.45pm Fridays), ring the Dog Warden
Service on 01255 686766 or Tendring Careline on 01255
222022. Out of normal working hours and at weekends ring
Tendring Careline on 01255 222727, and request
that the Dog Warden comes out to collect the dog OR
- Take the dog to the
Council Offices, Thorpe Road, Weeley (during normal working
hours only). N.B. Out of hours and weekends/bank holidays there is
up to 3 hours response time.
