It was a year to remember for immediate past Tendring District Council (TDC) Chairman Peter Balbirnie.

And to make sure he doesn't forget a single moment his functions, presentations, and other experiences from his 12 months in post have been captured in a special album.

New TDC Chairman Roy Smith took over the role earlier this month and he was happy to make one of his first tasks the handover of the memento to Cllr Balbirnie.

The album contained photographs, newspaper cuttings and other items of significance from May 2007 through to May 2008.

"I had a fantastic time and it will be lovely to look back on all those special memories captured in the album in the years to come," said Cllr Balbirnie.

"There were so many special times and it was great to meet so many people and visit so many events."

Cllr Smith said that he will be looking forward to receiving an album of his own at the end of his period as Chairman.
