Talks between Councillors and businesses from Harwich and
Tendring and a delegation from the Netherlands could provide a
vital launching part for future initiatives.
A party from The Hook of Holland spent today (Feb 27) in Harwich
and toured the district as part of a fact finding mission.
Tendring District Council Leader David Lines was one of those to
meet up with the delegation and described the talks as "very
productive."
Cllr Lines said it was very evident that the two areas had a
great deal in common and could benefit from the liaison.
"I believe that there are tremendous opportunities to be
developed in terms of tourism, culture and between our schools," he
added.
"There was a great deal of enthusiasm from both sides and I am
sure this will be a launching pad for a variety of other
initiatives in the future."
The event was set up by Harwich Town Council and Cllr Lines said
he was delighted to have been able to take
part. |
