A whole host of activities have been lined-up for
youngsters across Tendring this Easter holiday.
A range of coached sports, arts and crafts, pool sessions and
soft play will be on offer at Tendring District Council's (TDC)
leisure facilities between April 6 and April 17.
They have been designed to brighten up the break - whatever the
weather, with many being under cover.
Youngsters are being encouraged to 'Get in the Zone' and have
the choice of creative Zone, skills Zone, aqua Zone, xtreme Zone
and youth Zone.
Various activities will take place at Clacton Leisure Centre,
Frinton and Walton Swimming Pool, Dovercourt Swimming Pool,
Brightlingsea Sports Centre, Harwich Sports Centre and Manningtree
Sports Centre.
The new climbing wall at Manningtree is bound to prove popular
with many and is likely to get booked up very quickly.
Pierre Oxley, Portfolio Holder for Leisure at TDC, said staff
had worked hard to organise an extensive range of activities and
hoped that young people would make the most of the
opportunities.
"There really is something for everyone to enjoy, take part in
and make new friends," he said. "They can play sport, learn a new
skill or simply have fun."
There are activities for those aged from four right up to 16 and
they include multi-sports, trampolining, archery, cricket, soccer,
inflatables in the pool, table tennis musical theatre workshop,
badminton, basketball, art classes and many more.
Prices vary for each activity and full details can be found in
the brochure which you can
download here or pick up from any of the Council's leisure
centres.
From April 1, 2009 there will also be free swimming for all
those 16 and under - as well as those 60 and over - in Tendring.
Applications forms are again available from centres and more
information is available on the
free
swimming page.
On Friday April 17, 2009
Boogie Pete from CBeebies will take to the stage at
the Princes Theatre, Clacton, with his new show. It is suitable
for toddlers from 18 months old and is an alternative attraction
during the break.
Tickets are available from the box office on 01255 686633 or in
person from Clacton Town Hall, Station Road, Clacton.
