Residents in Holland-on-Sea are being given the chance to
air their views over a site in their town.
Tendring District Council (TDC) owns land at the junction of
Brighton Road and Hereford Road which was declared surplus to its
requirements in 2004.
Realise Health Ltd wants to buy part of the site to build a new
health centre for people living in Holland-on-Sea.
The Council now needs to consider whether to sell the land - but
wants to know the views of as many local residents as possible
before coming to a decision.
Neil Stock, Leader of TDC, said that it was important that
people living in the area made their voice heard on this important
issue.
"We have pledged to speak to those who will be affected by this
decision and we are very keen to hear everyone's views," he
said.
"We do not want to rely on the feelings of just a few people so
it is vital that the residents of Holland make an effort to respond
so that we have the widest possible consultation to help base our
decision on."
Cllr Stock said that the Council wanted the exercise to be as
full and extensive as it possibly can.
"It will include letters to all of the 3,500 or so addresses in
the Holland-on-Sea wards and I hope people will take the time to
reply - as it really is in their interests to do so," he added.
The consultation will also be advertised both in the press and
on this website inviting replies.
