Tendring District Council Chairman Peter Balbirnie's charity fund has been boosted by £362 following a successful quiz night.

The event was staged at the Princes Theatre in Clacton and a large number of teams battled it out for the honours.

And when the points were finally added up it was the team named Dazed and Confused - who were anything but on the night - which came out on top.

Cllr Balbirnie said: "I am very grateful to all those who took part and helped make the quiz such a success."

The Chairman's charities this year are Shopmobility, the Princes Theatre Youth Company, the West Cliff Theatre Trust and play groups in Weeley and Little Clacton.

Dazed and Confused was made up of three current Tendring District councillors - Lawrie Payne, Gary Calver and Ian Beckett - with wives Trish Payne and Alison Calver, as well as former Councillor Norman Jacobs.
