Community views are needed on a draft strategy for
creating, improving and protecting open spaces in Tendring to meet
the needs of the changing population.
The draft strategy has been drawn up over the past four months
by The Landscape Partnership following an audit of spaces and
initial consultations last year.
Tendring District Council (TDC) commissioned the strategy as an
important technical document to help guide the Council's ongoing
investment in open spaces.
It will also inform the Council's emerging planning policies on
securing open space over the next 15 years or so as the population
of the district grows as a result of new development.
Now TDC has a draft of the Open Spaces Strategy, it wants to
know what people's priorities for change are.
Does Tendring need more greenspace in new developments? Green
links between settlements? Or improved wildlife habitats in
existing greenspace?
From May 4 until June 14 residents can view the draft Open
Spaces Strategy and download a questionnaire from this website.
Alternatively they can visit one of the Open Spaces exhibitions
