Harwich Sports Centre (HSC) is meeting the very top standards in its industry - and that's official!

The centre in Hall Lane, which is run by Tendring District Council (TDC) and the Harwich School, has been independently assessed.

After an extensive examination it proved itself more than fit for purpose and has received a top accolade.

It has been confirmed that the centre will receive Quest Status, the UK quality scheme for sports and leisure which is managed by Sport England.

Quest defines industry standards and good practices. It encourages ongoing development and delivery within a customer focused management framework.

The centre was judged on a number of issues including customer experience, the team, continuous improvement, maintenance and equipment, environment, health and safety, cleaning and housekeeping.

HSC offers excellent facilities which include 2 squash courts, 4 badminton courts, an all-weather hard court for basketball, netball, hockey and which during the summer can also be used for tennis.

There is also the Youth Zone which has additional tennis courts and a multi-pitch for use by 10 to 17 year olds.
