Mother-of-three Jayne Munson was keen to get back to work after
starting her family and took a job as a part time receptionist at
Dovercourt Swimming Pool.
It was meant to be a path back into employment but 25 years
later she is still in the same job!
Mrs Munson of The Ridgeway, Dovercourt, had previously worked
for a shipping agent.
"The post at the pool was a perfect start back after having the
children but I enjoyed it so much that I never left," she said.
"Every day is different and I never get bored. I love dealing
with the members of the public and helping them to enjoy the
facilities, whether it is the pool, fitness suite or all-weather
pitch at the site."
Mrs Munson, who is married with three sons, celebrated 25 years
at the pool, which is run by Tendring District Council (TDC),
earlier this month.
She was also a prominent member of Harwich Swimming Club for 20
years.
Stephen Mayzes, TDC's Cabinet Member for Tourism and Community
Life, said: "It is excellent to see that TDC provided Jayne with a
way back into work. She enjoyed it so much she has remained loyal
ever since.
"I am delighted that we have provided Jayne with such a positive
experience during her employment."
